A quick question to everyone…

I love the phrase ‘respect your elders’, but that phrase has never really met my family. My father insists that you graduate a 2 year college in 2 years. This being my 3rd year, and the high level maths being my final opponents, he insists I am not trying hard enough, despite my argument that no one graduates from a 2 year college in 2 years

So what do you think?

As a current community college student myself, I was expecting to transfer to a four year university, though I am a bit behind in credit hours. I have changed my mind since then, and since I only took 3 applicable hours my first semester, and this current semester I have 11 hours, I won’t be able to graduate with my two Associates degrees until December, the start of my third year in community college. Shit happens, life happens, things change – sometimes, you just can’t control what happens in your life! If it takes three years to graduate from a two year college, so be it – at least you are one of the few who actually does!

It is hard to graduate in two years unless all courses run, you pass all courses, you plan minutely, and you experience no cosmic hiccups along the way.

When arguing with a parent, stay away from statements that start, ” No one graduates … or everyone does it..” Absolutes like that indicate that you need to work on your critical thinking skills.
